Help: getting and opening your files
Finding your download
- Right after you pay, Gumroad opens your download page.
- Gumroad also emails a receipt with a link to the same page. Search your email for “Gumroad” or “Steady Ledger”.
- Your files stay in your Gumroad library at gumroad.com/library, so you can download them again on any device.
Which file to open first
Open Steady-Ledger-Workbook.xlsx and follow the Start Here tab. To look around first, open Steady-Ledger-Example-Fictional.xlsx, which is filled in with a made-up household. Keep Steady-Ledger-Guide.pdf nearby for explanations.
Microsoft Excel (Windows or Mac)
Double-click the file. If a yellow bar says Protected View, click Enable Editing. There are no macros.
Google Sheets
- Go to Google Drive and choose New, then File upload.
- Open the uploaded file, then choose File → Save as Google Sheets.
- Type rates with a % sign, for example 3.5%.
Apple Numbers (Mac, iPad, iPhone)
Open the file in Numbers. Every calculation works; some colours and charts look slightly different. Keep using the Numbers copy from then on.
Printing
The guide and printable pages are US Letter. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” in the print dialog. In the workbook, the Money Map tab is designed to print on one page.
